Facebook has launched a programming language called Hack that it says should make it easier for developers to create faster, more reliable Web pages and applications. The move could bring more of the Web in line with Facebook's development philosophy, and make it more likely that developers will use Facebook tools for customer sign-ups and other functions, Quentin Hardy writes. "It arose out of a desire to improve the efficiency of our developers," Facebook's Bryan O'Sullivan says.
