The $1.8 billion makeover of Interstate 595 in Florida is nearing completion, and the opening of reversible express lanes is expected later this month. The project, which aims to improve traffic flow, is a public-private partnership between the state's Department of Transportation and I-595 Express, whose parent company is Spain-based multinational Actividades de Construccion y Servicios S.A. Infrastructure Development of Madrid. The entire project, which includes construction of a turnpike interchange, sound-barrier walls and bypass bridges, is slated to be completed in June.
