Regular colorectal cancer screenings beginning at age 50, along with a healthy, fiber-rich diet and plenty of exercise are ways to reduce the risk of colon cancer, say experts at the University of California, Los Angeles. People who experience symptoms such as a change in bowel habits, blood in the stool or abdominal pain should see their physician, they said.
