The popularity of native ads on social media is rising with traditional print publishers looking for new revenue streams and marketers seeing it as a way to promote brand awareness and affinity. A BIA/Kelsey report has estimated that social media native ad spending will rise from $3.1 billion this year to $5 billion in 2017 and increase from a 38.8% share of social media ad spending to 42.4%.
