President Barack Obama's proposed budget, which was unveiled on Tuesday, calls for a trillion dollars in new tax revenues raised chiefly by tightening enforcement and closing existing loopholes in the tax code. Republicans accused the president of pitching a budget plan that was aimed at firing up his base rather than fixing the nation's economy. "American families looking for jobs and opportunity will find only more government in this plan," said House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.
