PepsiCo is establishing a third-party system to audit the social, environmental and human rights standards of its supplier countries. The first will be instituted by the end of the year for Brazil, the company's top supplier of sugar. Other countries will be audited by 2016, including Thailand, which supplies sugar, Mexico for its palm oil supply and the Philippines for coconut water. The assessment will focus on land rights and the impact on the surrounding community.
