Chateau Pontet-Canet released its 2013 futures for sale on Wednesday, a week ahead of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux tastings. The chateau set a price for the 2013 vintage at $93 per bottle, unchanged from the previous year's vintage, at a time when some Bordeaux merchants are predicting a significant drop in prices. "It's about brand. This felt right for us. And sometimes you just have to go for it and not look back," said Pontet-Canet's Melanie Tesseron. "Of course, being the first is always risky."
