Keith Higgins, director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporate Finance, recently highlighted new and upcoming rules that make it easier for companies to access capital from the public. Speaking at the annual Institute on Securities Regulation event, Higgins outlined progress related to the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, including the removal of restrictions on general solicitation, the rise of crowdfunding and the broadening of a threshold regarding quasi-public offerings.
