An analysis of studies from North America and Europe found a 10% decline in the number of premature births and hospital visits for asthma attacks a year after laws banning smoking in public places were implemented. "Our research shows that smoking bans are an effective way to protect the health of our children," lead researcher Jasper Been said. The findings were published in The Lancet.
