Several studies document the frequency of errors in current radiology reporting practices. Radiology experts say structured radiology reports help avoid those errors, improving patient perception of care, augmenting communication between radiologists and clinicians and ensuring proper reimbursement. The Radiological Society of North America has made structured reporting templates available on its website for ultrasound, CT and MRI studies.
