Study data on 1,732 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus found a 58% headache prevalence, but only 1.5% of patients met the criteria for the condition lupus headache, Canadian researchers reported in the journal Arthritis & Rheumatism. The headaches reported by lupus patients more likely may come from the effects of lupus on the system, instead of from the disease itself, the study team reported.
