Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Tennessee this spring will begin to gradually lift a ban on accessing Twitter and YouTube via the school system's Wi-Fi. Officials say the ban will be lifted at first in high schools and then middle schools, with teachers planning to use more social media in lessons in the fall. Other sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, will remain blocked. Officials say allowing access to some sites will give teachers the opportunity to integrate them in classroom lessons and teach students how to be responsible users of social media.
