Digi-Key recruits workers to its remote location in Thief River Falls, Minn., by offering a relocation bonus, paying $500 employee-referral bonuses and promoting from within. The company, which has tripled its headcount since 2002, also offers "to pay people at or above what they could make somewhere else," and provides fully paid health insurance, Digi-Key's Rick Trontvet says.
