The U.S. energy sector is inadequately prepared to handle the rising level of cyberthreats against its infrastructure, according to a report from the Bipartisan Policy Center, a coalition of energy security officials. The report, which was co-authored by former director of the Central Intelligence Agency Michael Hayden, attributes the breakdown in part to poor coordination between competing utilities and a lack of expertise among energy regulators.
