Students at a high school in Alabama are honing their engineering skills in a pilot online class, designed to expose them to college-level engineering lessons. Using the MATLAB program, students constructed bridges made of straws, and designed and built gingerbread houses. "By the time they finish this course, the students will have been exposed to what a freshman engineering student learns in college," teacher Jameria Ogunmakin said.
