Delta Air Lines has finished installing flat-bed seats for its BusinessElite cabin on international flights. Delta installed the seats on Airbus and Boeing aircraft. According to Delta, it is the only carrier to offer flat-bed seats on all overseas flights.
Airlines are starting to offer smartwatch boarding passes, an innovation that lets users glance at their watches to get flight details quickly. "This option makes opening the boarding pass on the iPhone or even searching for the paper pass in your purse a thing of the past," says Andre Rahn at Air Berlin, which updated its iPhone app for smartwatch connectivity.
The U.S. Department of Transportation reports that the average domestic airfare rose to $381 in the fourth quarter of 2013, a 0.3% or $1 increase over last year. The fares don't include fees for checking bags, boarding early or getting an economy-cabin seat with more legroom.
