AT&T is looking into the viability of eMBMS standard for the delivery of 4G LTE broadcast signals, a new FCC filing confirms. The carrier said it has no definitive plans to deploy the technology -- which is designed to optimize spectrum usage by delivering content simultaneously to multiple users -- but said in its filing that if it did, it would be used in the D and E Blocks, as a supplemental downlink, "together with PCS or AWS spectrum."
