Baby boomers have doubts about whether they are prepared for retirement today, but 42% believe they will be in much better financial shape in five years, according to research by the Insured Retirement Institute. In 2012 only 32% expressed that opinion. About half of the boomers surveyed have saved $250,000 for retirement, and more than two-thirds of them have saved at least $100,000, IRI said.
