A Brazilian court ruled that Chevron Brazil and 11 of its employees should face criminal charges related to a November 2011 oil spill. The case was previously dismissed following a settlement, but the country's public prosecutor's office opposed the dismissal and appealed to reinstate the case. "We are confident that once all the facts are fully examined, they will demonstrate that the company responded appropriately and responsibly to the incident and that there is no damage to the environment or risk to human health associated with the incident," Chevron said.
