Concrete has been used in some of the world's most famous buildings, and it has provided benefits such as sculptural possibilities and cool textures that are very visible today, according to this article. The Sydney Adventist Hospital, designed by Morris Bray Martin Ollman, used concrete blades on its facade as heat shields against brush fires while providing the building with enough ventilation; and the Escuelas en San Juan Cotzal in Guatemala used concrete slabs in organic shapes to flow with hilly topography and the concrete skeleton fences were inspired by clothing of the locals.
