Tisch MS Research Center has collected more than $243,000 to support the early-stage clinical trial of a stem cell treatment for multiple sclerosis. The therapy uses neural progenitors from adult stem cells taken from the bone marrow and administered in multiple rounds every three months into the cerebrospinal fluid rather than into the bloodstream. The trial will involve 20 patients with progressive MS who will receive treatment for six months.
