The Health & Human Services Committee of the Florida House approved a bill that would cut $200 million from Medicaid managed dental care for children provided by plans already under contract with the state's Medicaid program. The proposal would shift the funds to a statewide Medicaid prepaid dental program. The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration has five-year contracts outstanding with managed-care plans to provide pediatric dental care, and the proposal would require a federal waiver if approved, House analysts said.
