Former IRS official Lois Lerner should face prosecution for her role in the agency's targeting of political groups, the Republican-controlled House Ways and Means Committee said Wednesday. The panel's decision to push for Lerner's prosecution came as the Office of Special Counsel accused IRS staff of promoting President Barack Obama's cause, and even chanting pro-Obama slogans to people who phoned the IRS, during the president's 2012 re-election campaign.
