The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency demonstrated some of its latest prosthetic technology for Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel on Tuesday, including an artificial arm that can be controlled by various foot movements through accelerometers strapped to the feet. Hagel also saw how a patient with a brain-embedded sensor could manipulate a prosthesis with thoughts alone. DARPA's Justin Sanchez said, "People said it would be 50 years before we saw this technology in humans. We did it in a few years."
