Richmond Friends School students from Indiana toured the historic Armstrong School in Lynchburg, Va., an institution built for African-American students shortly before racial segregation ended in public schools. The students wanted to visit after reading "Kizzy Ann Stamps," a story about a girl's first time in an integrated school. Teacher John Sheets said the visit helps his students consider the treatment of others throughout history. He said Richmond Friends focuses on teaching students to think about the question, "How do you treat other people?"
