The HHS should give health insurers clear guidance on tobacco-cessation benefits that plans must include to comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, according to a letter signed by the AAFP and other health groups. AAFP federal regulatory manager Robert Bennett said the letter to HHS is consistent with the Academy's Tobacco and Smoking policy, and it notes that some plans are not covering tobacco-cessation services that are proven to help people quit smoking.
