Officials in a Montana elementary school this month began dismissing students an hour early on Wednesdays so teachers could work in professional learning communities. The goal is to identify what students need to learn, how students learn best, which students need interventions and how to challenge top students. "Teachers are just taking off with it, and they're running with it, and it is a great collaboration platform," said principal Jonathan Skinner, noting that the school already has made improvements as a result.
