Colorado-based Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage has implemented a policy requiring that all dairy products sold in its 85 stores be sourced from pasture-grazed animals, as part of an effort to meet consumer demand for organic products. The chain began weeding out yogurts sourced from nonpasture dairy producers earlier this month and plans to convert all other products, including cheeses and goat milk, by next April. "We know from consumers that one of the things very important to them is food quality and how their food is raised, especially with dairy products," Natural Grocers Executive Vice President Heather Isely said.
