The 60-year-old roof at the Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum in Arkansas City, Kan., continues to leak even after patchwork repairs on the structure, said Tom Bay, president of the museum's board of directors. "There has been a lot of patchwork using black tar and white urethane plastic," Bay said. Commissioner Jean Snell notes "it's an old, old roof that has been repaired numerous times. It's had several applications put over screws. The rubber seals are completely gone."
