Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who got at least 150 minutes of physical activity weekly were 34% less likely to be readmitted to a hospital within 30 days compared with those who did not exercise at all, according to a study in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society. Lead researcher Huong Nguyen said the findings support the promotion of exercise across the COPD care continuum.
