Reps. John Delaney, D-Md., and Mike Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., are urging Congress to use "one-time revenues from repatriated earnings" to help fund the Highway Trust Fund while negotiations for a long-term solution continue. They also recommend forming the American Infrastructure Fund under Delaney's proposed legislation as a long-term solution to raise funds for transportation projects. "Merely continuing with our current level of infrastructure spending will not be enough to make up for this deficit and place us on a path of growth and prosperity in our economic future," wrote Delaney and Fitzpatrick.
