Patients' satisfaction with post-surgery pain treatment was more strongly linked to whether they were happy with the treatment and their improvement than it was to actual pain intensity, according to a study from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Medicine. Researchers wrote in the journal Pain that a patient's pain experience, their involvement in the pain treatment process and their relationship with their health care practitioner were the biggest factors in satisfaction with treatment of post-operative pain.
