Las Vegas is seeing a proliferation of boutique hotels that offer luxury in a decidedly non-mega-resort setting. About six new hotels are planned for this year that tout themselves as small bastions of luxury, though "small," in Vegas terms, is relative. The trend matches luxury customers' growing desire for personalized experiences. "A smaller property allows you to keep things new and fresh," says Karie Hall, general manager of the 188-room Cromwell. "You know a customer's personality, their wants and what they dislike. And you also know the level of service to provide."
