As part of an effort to mark the AVMA's 150th anniversary in 2013, the AVMA, the Smithsonian and Zoetis worked to create a traveling exhibit to educate the public about the roles of veterinarians in animal and public health while inspiring future generations of veterinary professionals. Zoetis academic liaison and veterinarian Harvey Crumm offers a glimpse inside the exhibit. "When folks come in and have the opportunity to look at and get a deeper appreciation for how animals do play a role in their lives, they see the bigger picture. They understand how veterinary medicine makes a difference in their lives, whether they're an animal owner or not," Dr. Crumm said.
