Among children ages 6 months to 4 years from 2008 to 2012, the average efficacy rate of partial or complete trivalent influenza vaccination was 65%, according to an Australian study published in the journal Pediatrics. The flu vaccine was particularly effective among children younger than age 2, reducing their odds of getting the flu by 86%.
