Airbus is considering whether to re-engine its A330 and carve out new market share with the A330neo, and columnist Pierre Sparaco says revamping the plane may make more sense than putting all the focus on the A350XWB. "The A330 -- launched in the 1980s jointly with the four-engine A340 -- was expected to retire gracefully long ago. Now it looks like it could be gearing up for a new life," he writes. "If launched this summer, the A330neo could enter into service in the 2017-18 timeframe -- and blaze a new trail in the commercial transport industry."
