Work on building a 120-foot deep pit to allow the removal and repair of tunnel-boring-machine Bertha's cutting head, can be viewed online thanks to a camera installed beside the Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle. Construction of the repair pit, which is slated to begin next week, includes relocation of utility lines and injection of concrete grout to harden the soil for easier drilling.
