Republican senators are pushing to have the repeal of the medical device tax included in the $85 billion tax extension package heading to the Senate floor this week. "I think it's time to actually take a look at the medical device tax and truly putting forth, in a vote, an opportunity to eliminate the medical device tax," said Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said the tax is forcing tough choices in the industry: "A lot of companies are leaving America to go overseas."
