Marketers who are becoming more data focused will also need to increasingly hire staff with skills such as programming, coding and data analysis, writes Allyson Willoughby, Glassdoor's senior vice president of people. Successfully recruiting such staff requires the creation of an environment where both creative and technical marketing staff can collaborate, determining where knowledge holes exist among current staff before beginning the hiring process, and creating content that highlights the company's marketing innovations and successes.
