The American beer industry has been disrupted by the aftermath of a 1970s regulatory shift, writes Theodore Kinni. The government legalized home brewing and reduced the tax burden on smaller producers, helping U.S. breweries grow from less than 100 in 1978 to close to 3,000 last year. "The best part is that this process of industry disruption has created a sort of golden era for beer drinkers," Kinni writes.
