Showtime is using "wallet" applications on Apple and Android mobile phones to notify users of the availability of new content related to its "Penny Dreadful" series. The apps could be further deployed to trigger an alert when users approach billboards for the show in New York and Los Angeles. Showtime also has made the series' premiere available on YouTube, Hulu, Yahoo and other websites ahead of its TV debut.
