A Bergen County, N.J., district has started a job-training program that allows students with disabilities to specialize in areas such as food service and retail. Students interested in food service at Career Crossroads learn how to prepare food, budgets and marketing plans as they work in a classroom restaurant and then intern at a local business. "Our projects are all real and all connected to what you would encounter in the workplace," teacher Patti Wojtowicz said.
