Consumers are increasingly more concerned about the health benefits of food and beverage purchases, with 71% of shoppers naming healthfulness as an important part of their decisions, a 10-point increase from two years ago, according to the International Food Informational Council's 2014 Food and Health Survey. The survey also revealed a declining confidence in the safety and security of food supply, down to 66% in 2014 from 78% in 2012.
