A Vital Solutions survey of German students found that while 73.3% of men and 64.2% of women believe cognitive performance can be improved by what they eat or drink, they choose different products. Most women, 67.7%, said they turn to chocolate while men, 59.5%, opt for coffee, and more than twice the number of men as women chose energy drinks. Both men and women were most concerned with being able to concentrate longer and worker faster and better. Women also were more likely to turn to functional foods for relaxation purposes.
