Book publishers are tapping into a fresh talent pool by inviting YouTube celebrities to write books and are using fan interaction to drive the narrative. United Talent Agency and Simon & Schuster's Atria Publishing Group have formed Keywords Press to publish books by YouTube stars such as Justine Ezarik and Shane Dawson. The stars will be involving their fans in the book-creation process in an attempt to create a fast-moving, interactive publishing model. "There wasn't a publishing apparatus out there that could really take advantage of the unique nature of online stars and their relationship with fans, so we decided to go out and create one," said Brent Weinstein, who leads United Talent's digital unit.
