Aligning on "purpose and principle" is crucial to the Whole Foods Market executive team, says Chief Financial Officer Glenda Flanagan, who joined the company in 1988 as the grocer was opening its seventh and eighth stores. The early Whole Foods struggled with the financial burdens of building new stores, but the Alar panic helped boost business, Flanagan says.
