On Tuesday, general aviation CEOs, including AOPA President Mark Baker, briefed the House General Aviation Caucus on third class medical reform, streamlining the Federal Aviation Administration certification process for aircraft, helicopter noise issues, GA security and the threat of user fees. Baker stressed that third class medical reform is critical to growing general aviation. General Aviation Manufacturers Association President and CEO Pete Bunce told the caucus that GA needs a faster certification process to bring new technologies to the marketplace, while the Export-Import Bank provides funding that allows U.S. companies to compete globally.
