Closing the information gap in supply chains is even more important as supply chains experience the highest risk level since the 1970s, said Paul Stanley of Accenture. "When we look at information on how companies communicate to their supply chains, it is very audit-driven, very static and data is only appropriate for known risks. ... What is more difficult to respond to are random events," said Stanley. He advised businesses to pay attention to global exposure, risk evolution and informal information.
