Common understandings of privacy are endangered by new recommendations on facial-recognition technology from the International Biometrics and Identification Association, according to a privacy advocate. The IBIA guidelines suggest that people forfeit anonymity by living in society, but Chris Calabrese of the American Civil Liberties Union says that amounts to claiming a right to identify people anywhere at any time.
