Raytheon and Thales have signed a 27-month accord to produce a new variant of a long-standing anti-tank weapon system now in use around the globe. The companies will team up for a five-year production contract to create a new TOW, or tube-launched, optically-tracked, wireless-guided weapon system. "This development activity will enable increased safety compliance and warfighter survivability while addressing obsolescence issues and incorporating cost saving technologies," aid Michelle Lohmeier, vice president of Raytheon Missile Systems' Land Warfare Systems product line.
